Operational Risk Manager – Cash Products
Macquarie Adviser Services (MAS), a division of Macquarie’s Banking and Financial Services (BFS) Group; manages relationships with external financial intermediaries and provides sales service and product management of in-house and external products. This includes cash products such as the Macquarie Cash Management Trust (the leading cash management trust in the Australian market), Macquarie Cash Management Account and Term Deposits.
The Risk and Compliance team within MAS are currently seeking a well experienced and self motivated Operational Risk Manager to join the team on a three month contract to focus on the Cash business.
Reporting to the Senior Operational Risk Manager, you will directly work with key counterparts of the business and actively develop and maintain the risk and compliance framework for the Cash business. You will actively assist the business to identify, manage and mitigate operational risks and carry out necessary risk activities. As an Operational Risk Manager, it is your responsibility to ensure that the business has a strong awareness of risk and culture. More specifically, your responsibilities will include:
- Operational Risk Initiatives and Self-Assessments: assist in maintaining an effective risk management and control frameworks through completion of targeted reviews and self-assessments
- Risk & Compliance Culture & Framework Activities: assist in the development of risk and compliance frameworks across the business, risk management culture, and to be recognised for providing expert operational risk advice
- Project Risk Management: provide operational risk and compliance guidance on various business projects and ensure appropriate frameworks are in place to manage project and business risks
Ideally, you will have:
- Experience in internal/external audit and/or previous experience in operational risk (highly advantageous)
- Experience in retail financial and deposit products, and their regulatory frameworks (highly advantageous)
- Experience working in or with large operations teams with high transaction volumes and complex IT systems
- An enthusiastic, self-motivated and proactive persona
- The ability to multi-task priorities, manage deadlines and pick up new ideas and concepts quickly
- Strong technical, analytical and (written and verbal) communication skills
- Ability to produce high quality deliverables for different audiences
- An ambitious and focused attitude
