Business Development Manager - Macquarie Professional Partners
The Banking and Financial Services Group (BFS) is the primary relationship manager for Macquarie’s retail client base with operations in Australia, New Zealand, Asia, North America and Europe. BFS provides a diverse range of retail banking and wealth management products and services to intermediaries, businesses and the end consumer.
As part of BFS, Macquarie Direct maintains direct relationships with retail clients in Australia and New Zealand. Macquarie Professional Partners within Macquarie Private Wealth (MPW) / Direct are seeking an experienced and motivated business development manager to join the team.
Working with a team of Business Development Managers you will utilise your strong relationship and communication skills to build referral relationships with external businesses, primarily accountants to generate cash account and advice leads into Macquarie Direct and MPW.
This opportunity will suit someone who is driven and passionate about managing and building relationships with their client base. Experience working within the accountancy industry is desirable.
You will be responsible for:
- Sourcing and converting prospective referral partners
- Developing and managing an effective referral plan in order to achieve annual revenue and growth targets, whilst maintaining a strong awareness of industry related activity
- Managing the ongoing business to business relationship with new referral partners
- Overseeing the introduction of Macquarie Direct / MPW services to clients of referral partners
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- A high degree of initiative, self motivation, flexibility, and achievement drive
- Sales experience within financial services desirable
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, preferably business, commerce or finance.
- RG146 accreditation preferred Experience in a business development/sales capacity, coupled with strong networks in the Accounting
- Good knowledge of, or genuine interest in, financial markets and investment products
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A team-oriented approach, as well as the confidence to act autonomously
- Good planning skills and ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.
