My client is a market-leader who have had a very strong 2009 and are looking forward to a very successful 2010 and beyond. With a raft of key projects underway they are now looking to bolster their development expertise in the APAC region & are looking for a big hitting Oracle Developer with strong .Net skills to join their ranks.

You will be responsible for the design & development of my clients product which is a mission critical set of applications & is built around Oracle 10g & a .Net (C#) front end. The role will demand skills across the entire SDLC, from requirements analysis & writing design specifications through to client liaison, development, implementation & ongoing support.

My clients software product is enterprise wide & highly complex. With most client contracts being 5 years in length and a new systems implementation taking around 2yrs this is a serious development environment. To be considered for this position you must possess outstanding Oracle database development skills (stored procedures, packages, triggers, performance tuning)as well as a good understanding of the .Net framework (3.0). I am looking for a minimum of 5 years commercial Oracle experience (ideally nearer 10)

You will contribute to Business Analysis type activities by reviewing & developing client requirements specifications & writing design specifications. From there you will implement the necessary front/back end code changes in line with the required design/cod/performance tuning standards. You will play a key role in estimating development timelines & be involved in peer code reviews (PL/SQL, .Net). Whilst not a DBA you will work closely with the DBA team, ensuring ????? ?????-end code changes are suitably performance tuned.

Whilst the bulk of the clients are Sydney based there may be occasional out of state travel as well as some overseas travel (NZ etc).

A big part of this role will be working to ensure my clients software integrates well with existing ERP applications (SAP, Oracle Financials) so I am looking for candidates who can clearly demonstrate a strong track record in the software integration arena.

In terms of Oracle experience the ideal candidate would have;

Extensive Oracle 10g experience
Advanced server side PL/SQL skills
Oracle AS, BI
Oracle Database Design, Data Modelling Skills

Strong Analysis & both high & low level design expertise
Oracle Web Services would be a bonus

It is key that applicants have fluent .Net (C#) programming skills, any Java experience would also be highly regarded.

This is a Senior role, focused around serious Oracle database knowledge & fluent front end (C# .Net) development skills. The successful candidate will be a full life-cycle practitioner & be able to lead junior staff, plan work schedules, engage with clients, possess excellent solutions skills ( from a design perspective) & be a first class communicator.

You will be working in a small office and reporting into a head office in London so the ability to make and take late calls is key as is the ability to work effectively as part of a remote team. This is a highly autonomous role with responsibility, pressures and challenges and is for Senior applicants only.

Any knowledge of the broadcast industry would be useful although is not essential as long as the areas you have worked in have been large scale & challenging.
