Diesel Mechanics and Mechanical Fitters

Ongoing casual assignment

Our high profile client is the leading supplier to the rail industry specialising in locomotives and freight cars and are currently looking for 4 x highly dedicated and experienced Fitters and/or Diesel Mechanics with engine overhaul experience to work an afternoon shift at their Chullora site on an ongoing casual basis with a view to permanent. An immediate start is offered for suitably qualified personnel.

Core Responsibilities

• Locomotive engine overhauls, preventative maintenance, testing and commissioning to include adjusting brakes, changing oil and filters, inspecting lights
• Systems analysis and troubleshooting
• Identify and source materials and parts

Qualifications required:

•  
  • Either trade qualified  Diesel Mechanic or Mechanical Fitter with previous experience in the rail industry
  • High level fault finding experience on locomotive diesel engines
  • Good communication skills
  • Self motivated and an active team player

Excellent hourly rates offered depending on experience.
