General Manager R&D Services. Horticulture

  • Our client is a not-for-profit, industry-owned company, working in partnership with Australia’s horticulture industries to invest in research, development and marketing programs that provide benefit to industry and the wider community.

    The company invests almost $90 million annually in programs designed to align with the strategic investment priorities of Australia’s horticulture industries and the Australian Government’s Rural Research and Development priorities.
     
    Our client is currently seeking a General Manager for the Research and Development Services division. This role will report directly to the CEO and is pivotal to the delivery of successful R&D programs and projects for the Horticulture Industries. This will be achieved through the development of strategies to deliver programs and the leadership of a team of professional contract and portfolio managers.  As part of the executive team, the GM R&D Services will also contribute to the overall strategy and management of company. 
     
    The successful candidate for this position will be able to demonstrate:
    •  A sound understanding of R&D related to the horticulture industry (a tertiary qualification in a science discipline is essential)
    • General management experience, specifically in the development and achievement of strategic and operating plans and budgets
    • Strong leadership skills
    • A knowledge of ‘best practice’ project/contract management methodologies
    • A commitment to delivering ????? ?????
