    About the Opportunity

    The Cape York Family Violence Prevention Legal Unit is seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the Principal Solicitor to lead their team in Cairns.

    In addition, multiple opportunities exist for Solicitors to join the CYFVPLU Legal Team and the Family Violence Prevention Legal Services (FVPLS) units throughout Australia.

    As a Principle Solicitor  you will be responsible for managing and leading the legal practice unit in the provision of quality legal advice, representation, and referral to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients on legal matters consistent with the Family Violence Prevention Legal Service (FVPLS) Operational Framework.

    Supervision of a team of solicitors will be a requirement of this position.

    In providing effective legal services to 16 Cape York communities, you will be expected to travel for approximately 2 weeks once per month. You will be rewarded for your dedication, passion and commitment with a negotiable remuneration package PLUS superannuation PLUS salary sacrificing benefits (up to $16,000). You will also receive 5 weeks annual leave and a monthly Rostered Day Off .
