Our client is a leading digital media company, specialising in designing and implementing one of the most well known cutting edge websites in Australia. Due to an increased workload they require an enthusiastic senior Java developer with at least 3 year's commercial experience in the latest technologies. Skills Required - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other related field
- Understanding of various software development lifecycle methodologies, configuration management (CVS) and object-oriented software development methodologies
- Detailed knowledge of web application architecture and infrastructure
- 3 + years solid development experience with OO Java/JSP in a dynamic, fast-paced application development environment.
- Knowledge or understanding of some of the following technologies/software packages Eclipse, MyEclipse, Subversion, Atlassian Bamboo, JIRA or Tango, Confluence, Maven 2, Hibernate, Spring, modern web frameworks (such as Struts 2, Spring ????? ?????, JSF), JUnit, SpringMock, Selenium, JMeter, Log4J, Tomcat 5.5
- Design experience with Oracle
- Experience working with 3rd party applications and APIs
- Some database development and design experience with SQL.
- Be able to write, in English, high-level architectural overview documentation and Class and method-level JavaDoc.
- Experience with Linux (primarily Red Hat)
- Some secondary language (C/C++, Perl, Python, Ruby, etc.)
