We are looking for a SQL Developer - ETL to work in the Catalyst Project Stream. The SQL Developer - ETL reports directly to the Applications Development Manager and is responsible for designing and developing system solutions in line with projects and changes prioritised by the business.

 Key Accountabilities:

• Analysis of existing systems to gain and understanding of how the overall landscape needs to change. To understand cross system dependencies between the various interdependent business systems, Finance, Risk;
• Analysis of Functional Specification and or Business Requirements to propose an application solution and analysis of interfaces between systems to ascertain interface changes/enhancements and upgrades;
• Delivery of a detailed design specification as an output of the Design phase (will be dependant of the size and complexity of the change);
• Contribute to the writing of technical design documents to establish an operating model for the proposed system;
• Work with system analysts to ensure correct interpretation of functional and technical documents and facilitate correct configuration and setup of proposed production environment;

To be considered suitable, candidates should demonstrate:

Essential

• Proven experience in developing SQL DTS packages and in developing SQL SSIS packages in 2005 and 2008;
• Solid experience developing applications using Vb.net (currently 2003);
• Use of VB and VBA code within Microsoft Excel and Access;
• Experience in developing applications with an Object Oriented design approach;
• Leading Edge Application Technology and Approach (eg Service-oriented Architecture (SOA), and Web services);
• Extensive technical knowledge of systems, technology architecture and standards;
• Problem solving skills in a dynamic, complex & fast changing environment;
• Negotiation Skills and Influencing Skills in dealing with senior executives, LOBs and within IT organisation ;
• Tertiary qualifications in IT or related field;

Desirable

• Experience with implementing technology solutions for ETL platforms and implementing reporting solutions using Microsoft Reporting services (2005, 2008);
• Finance Industry knowledge, treasury and structured finance an added plus;
• Knowledge of mainframe and non-mainframe environments;
• Experience in using UML for system modelling and with writing interfaces to and from DB2 database applications;
