Java Junior Developer - Investment Banking / Funds Management. Global Funds Management division within this high profile Financial Services firm requires a Junior Java Developer to join a programme team delivering significant change across the funds management back-office.  This role represents a wonderful opportunity to develop both new technical skills and financial markets knowledge. It is an ideal stepping stone for an IT professional looking to further their exposure in financial services sector.

Key Responsibilities -

• Designing and developing key Funds Management and other tactical solutions
• Establishing strong relationships with the business and IT stakeholders
• Working as a part of a team to deliver quality and robust solutions in a demanding business environment
• Participation in process improvement initiatives

Required Skills & Experience -

• 2-3 years + commercial Java/OO programming experience
• A sound grounding in the full SDLC
• Good problem solving and analytical skills
• Experience with Weblogic or equivalent enterprise application server
• Exposure to open-source frameworks and libraries such as Struts, Spring, Hibernate, JUnit
• Experience with JMS, MQ Series, XML, XSLT
• Strong relational database experience - SQL Server,  Sybase or Oracle
• Strong UNIX and Shell scripting experience
• C#.Net / ASP.Net or WebMethods or Crystal Reports exposure also beneficial but not imperative - this role offers the opportunity to cross train in C#.Net
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills
• Degree standard of education in maths, computer science, physics, software engineering or similar
