Java Applications Architect / Solutions Designer - Enter Solutions Architecture - Global Financial Services firm. Global Retail Banking IT division of this leading global investment banking & financial services firm requires an Applications Architect to enter Solution Architecture / Design. We require an, The Java Applications Architect will work closely with the business (prior experience of close business liaision is imperative) to design & implement business processes - this needs to include taking solutions from

conceptual design - you will need to have demonstable experience driving the design of systems to meet tangible business outcomes/objectives.

Key Responsibilities -

• Interact  with business stakeholders to understand their objectives and requirements
• Identify and recommend appropriate solutions to business problems
• Work with developers to support the implementation of recommended designs 
• Engage with other architects across the wider Financial Services IT division to ensure solutions are aligned to the broader technical and business strategy.

Required Skills & Experience -

• Experience as an Applications Architect / Tech Lead across Java based systems (ideally you will have owned/designed applications as an Apps Architect & be looking to enter Solutions Architecture
• The ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders
• A programming background in Java / J2EE / eCommerce technologies
• A strong client (business) focus. This is very much a business facing role, not just a technology role.
• Experience with RDBMS/SQL technology
• Business Process Management and Automation
• Service Oriented Architecture / SOA experience
• Experience working with recognised BPM software products - Tibco iProcess or similar of benefit but not imperative  
• Exposure to Agile/Iterative development methodologies
• Prior banking/financial services experience of benefit but not imperative

Will suit candidates with 2-4 years Applications Architecture experience. This is not a Senior Architecture role.
