Seeking a delivery focused technical thought leader! - with end to end BI/Data Warehouse Solution Design expertise to join a team of professionals in one of the banking leaders,

Combine your innovative thinking with your deep cross BI disciplines (ETL, data modelling, reporting and analysis) knowledge and practical industry experience to ensure consistent delivery of solutions across the bank.

Primary Objectives / Responsibilities:

Liaise with the business to understand requirements, identify opportunities and formulate high level design solutions in alignment with architectural and design principles and standards

Provide technical BI solution design, transition plans and cost estimates covering ????? ????? of data acquisition, data integration, metadata management, information delivery optimisation, reporting and analysis

Work closely with Project Management and technical specialists to design and propose optimal BI solutions that maximise business benefits through sound architectural and design principles

Skills / Competencies Required:

Extensive expertise of data integration and BI concepts

Highly experienced in providing solution designs including transition plans and cost estimates

Able to work across multiple projects and deal with ambiguity in a positive manner

Experience in data modelling, conceptual, logical and physical, with different approaches, i.e. normalised and dimensional - ideally in a financial services organisation

Broad practical experience in Data Warehouse environments including tools (BI reporting, ETL, Metadata Management, Reference Data Management) , strategies, solution approaches, industry trends, emerging technologies

Good understanding and practical experience in using industry standard reference data models (eg IBM's BDW, Teradata's FSLDM), with special focus on business domains in the financial sector

Industry experience in data warehousing practices and projects, in mainstream environments, Unix / Oracle, Teradata, etc

Extensive experience in data management best practices, architecture and data domains across a Financial Services environment

Broad experience in Cognos 8, Oracle, Teradata and Informatica

Play an active role across IT and Business in educating and promoting best practice BI solutions, able to articulate and justify sound solutions in line with the strategic vision of the BI environment

Minimum 5 years as a BI/DW Solution Designer/Architect with a solid track record of end to end solution delivery

Considered as an advantage:

Exposure or hands on experience in DataStage toolsets including metadata management

Exposure or hands on experience in Business Objects XI

Experience in Regulatory Reporting solutions, including XBRL submissions to regulatory bodies such as APRA
