Responsibilities

The primary function of this role is to provide Third level support to internal and external customers for Escalated faults and Solutions design and Integration.

To take ownership of problems escalated to the second and third level technical support, troubleshoot servers, OS or the network

Ensure that all processes and procedures are followed to the highest professional levels

Initiate corrective action where required within scope of knowledge and authority, or escalate promptly when beyond.

Respond proactively to alarms indicating potential SLA violations

Key Skills Required:

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Server operating systems, MCSE certified 2003 or higher.

Strong Unix / Linux knowledge

Advanced knowledge of DNS, Mail and WWW services

Advanced knowledge of IP networking and IP protocols and MPLS networks

Current Certification in at least 2 of the following is MANDATORY Microsoft MCSE 2003 or 2008, Linux Redhat, Sun Solaris, Cisco CCNP or higher, Juniper Routers and or Juniper Firewalls.

Cisco CCNP Certified or higher

Juniper M Series certified (JNCIS)

Extensive knowledge of VM Ware ESX

Strong knowledge of SANs

Cisco ASA / Juniper Netscreen Advanced Experience and certification

At least 3 years experience in a data centre and the major operating systems

Extensive hands-on experience with IP network elements and the routing troubleshooting

Working MPLS knowledge

Strong Analytical skills and problem determination ability

Belief in providing the highest quality of service to the customer

Good listener and communicator

Sensitivity to customers must be patient, pleasant and diplomatic, even when confronted with difficult situations

Ability to prioritise the work and perform under pressure
