Support Analyst / Trade Support Specialist - Equities & Futures / Derivatives Front-Office & FIX Platforms - Investment Banking. Business aligned Equities & Futures / Derivs IT areas within this leading global investment banking firm requires a Trading Systems Support Analysts. The Support Analysts will provide first and second level support for Equities & Futures trading applications, both in-house and vendor-supplied. You will be part of an established application support desk in Sydney; and collectively with other support desks in Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, New York and London form a global model. You will be responsible for providing day-to-day support and administrative services for key front office trading and other systems; identifying areas for improvement in the operational environment; working with development teams and vendors to ensure successful release of system upgrades and ensure high level of quality assurance in the production environment; and defect tracking and problem management Ideally you will have: - Experience working in a support environment - ideally financial markets front/middle/back office technology - experience with trading systems of particular interest
- Some experience in either SQL / Sybase, Oracle or SQL Server
- Scripting skills in Unix - Per, Shell, Korn or Windows / VBScript scripting
- Exposure to Fidessa or Omgeo, Imagine, IRESS, iBroker, PATSystems, GLTrade or Charles River, Cameron FIX or similar financial markets vendor packages highly desirable but not imperative
- Experience working within structured operational frameworks (eg, ITIL)
- Good communication and relationship management skills along with a strong passion for client service
- The ability to work effectively within local and distributed teams
- A strong appreciation of key business drivers and an understanding of the IT impact upon the business
- The ability to work well under pressure to resolve critical systems issues
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering, computer science or equivalent
