Sybase SQL / Unix Senior Analyst Programmer / Developer - Retail Banking / Financial Services. 2 x business aligned multi-product retail banking & wealth management area within this leading global investment banking & financial services firm requires a Senior Sybase Unix AP. The Senior AP will work closely with business staff to provide cost effective and timely solutions to immediate and ongoing business concerns. They will participate in all facets of project and software delivery across a variety of applications, including business and technical requirements gathering, analysis/design, coding, testing and implementation. 

To be successful you must have: 

• Excellent Sybase SQL development/programming experience
• Unix scripting skills - Shell, Korn or Perl 
• Extensive experience through the full SDLC -  the design, coding, testing and delivery of software projects  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders  
• Works well under pressure to provide timely and accurate solutions to systems problems  
• The ability to work well in a team of business and technical staff  
• Strong problem solving skills  
• Experience with formal project/software delivery methodologies  
• Back End Batch processing experience
• Experience with Powerbuilder or Java/J2EE and object oriented software development is of benefit  as is exposure to Workflow tools e.g. Tibco iProcess / Staffware &/or Object Brokers e.g. WebMethods
• Any prior experience in banking, insurance, funds management, wealth . WRAP or super also of interest
