Significant leadership role
Due to an internal restructure at Group level, the newly created role of Head of Assurance will lead the function for this large listed entity and oversee the statutory and operational governance framework for the company.
As part of your role, you will ensure that all internal audit, risk and compliance obligations and requrements are being met and are incorporated into corporate strategy together with protecting its business reputation and interests.
Ideally you will have exisiting relationships with APRA and other regulators and be able to develop key relationships internally across various Boards and Committees.
The successful candidate will have some if not all of the following attributes
- significant practical experience in leading an assurance, risk management, compliance or internal audit function in a financial services organisation
- understanding of APRA, ASIC and, ideally, Insurance Council of Australia rules and requirements
- direct experience in the insurance sector preferable
- probably "Big 4" or equivalent trained
- experience liaising with MD's, CEO's and Boards
- superior communication skills, credibility and maturity to lead and manage a team of upto 12
