The purpose of this role is to assist the National Product team in obtaining and managing profitable business by supporting the work of the Product Managers.
Reporting to the Manager, Pricing and Analysis, the successful candidate will have the ability to reconcile portfolio data and extract data from databases. You will also have the ability to identify insurance portfolio trends, investigate specific areas of concern and produce on-demand reports and analysis for the management team.
You will be able to perform calculations in spreadsheets, have knowledge of how to use simple data analysis techniques and the ability to follow documented processes under minimal supervision.
Ideally, you will have experience within general insurance and have the ability to write draft reports and have intermediate programming skills in SAS and Excel. The ability to work autonomously, solve problems with minimal supervision, make decisions and have the skill to identify opportunities to improve processes will be essential.
The successful candidate will have completed a university degree with a strong mathematical component such as Statistics or Actuarial Studies.
