A number of roles for Career Medical Officers currently exist throughout NSW.

The role of CMO is to provide first line medical care to patients of the Emergency Department including assessment, investigation, treatment and referral to admission or transfer for inpatient care.

As a qualified medical practitioner you will hold undergraduate or postgraduate qualifications in medicine and surgery that are recognised by the Australian Medical Council (including a pass of the AMC Multiple Choice Questionnaire) and that are assessed as suitable for the position by the NSW Medical Board.

You will have demonstrated your ability to recognise critically ill patients in an Emergency department and have spent a significant amount of your career to date developing your skills in this setting including having worked at a non-junior level. These roles require competency in a variety of resuscitation skills as well as the ability to perform a range of minor urgent procedures commonly undertaken in the Emergency Department.

You will have proven experience in the Australian Hospital system, at a minimum of 6 months, for these particular roles.
