Signalling Engineer - $1billion Rail Projects

This is a unique opportunity for a developing signalling engineer to gain experience in a wide range of multidisciplinary railway projects. You will provide support to the systems development group of the Rail systems consultancy division on a varied portfolio of projects. This will include a major new $billion Alliance package. Day to day activities will include metro signalling design activities, including leading small projects. There will also be considerable opportunity to contribute to various multi-disciplinary projects.

                                                           Responsibilities:

You will be based in the Sydney Office and undertake design or design management for signalling projects. You will also have the opportunity to achieve greater technical and managerial responsibilities if desired. Progression will be governed by individual ability and ambition. Typical responsibilities will include:

• Technical investigations and analysis
• Development of design solutions though calculation, drawing and reasoning
• Project management Liaison with client teams, and colleagues across the different business groups
• Use of simulation packages
• Preparation of technical notes, reports and presentations
• Assisting with preparing ????? ????? new work

                                                          Requirements:

• Previous experience in a design office undertaking Rail signalling design works.
• Familiar with Australian signalling principles
• Familiar with Australian signalling design process and documentation
• A good engineering ????? ????? civil, electrical or mechanical engineering ????? ????? is desirable.
• High standard of spoken and written English
• High standard of computer proficiency, covering ????? ????? software (in particular Word and Excel) and a working knowledge of CAD software.
• The work will be based in Sydney but there will be an occasional requirement to travel
• Keen to continue to develop your understanding of train control systems.
• You must be currently working for a recognised consultancy in Australia. Overseas applications are not accepted at this time
