Career Progression

For this role you should be able to demonstrate at least 8 years experience in the Rail sector, particularly with Overhead Line design work in Australia with progressive positions of responsibility. You will be familiar of railway OLE practices, standards and experience of co-ordination with interfacing disciplines.

The successful applicant will have direct experience of the following: 

• Conceptual and detailed design work for railway overhead line systems, usually at voltages of 25kV ac or 1500V dc.
• Production of design specifications and technical reports.
• Verification of OLE designs produced
• Investigation and resolution of technical problems related to OLE installations.
• Production of cost and programme estimates for OLE related projects.
• Providing technical support for bids.
• Development of business links and identifying market opportunities.
• Contributing to general understanding of OLE issues and specific staff training in this field. 

Essentially you should have a Degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering ????? ?????, e.g. Electrical or Civil with Corporate membership of an appropriate professional body, eg AIE.

Additional skills: 

• Able to communicate effectively with clients and internal/external interfacing discipline teams.
• Able to work under own initiative within a small team or alone.
• Able to clearly understand project objectives, and be focussed on meeting targets.
