  • Our client is one of the leading steel companies in Australia supplying many steel products sold nation wide. These products play a big part in peoples everyday lives, being vital components in housing, landmark buildings, structures and vital infrastructure. The company specialises in the manufacture and distribution of quality barrier systems to the Civil Engineering, Mining and Building Industries. In addition it also distributes a wide range of other products including flat steel products, sheet and coil, plate, value added metallic coated and painted steel solutions as well as special metals.

    Due to growth, a rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Mechanical Engineer to join the team. The main objective for this position will be plant layout, tooling and equipment design, cost improvement, maintenance and production method improvement.  

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    • Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering ????? ????? degree or diploma level is essential for this position.
    • Experience in metal cutting, forming and fabrication will be highly regarded.
    • Knowledge of drafting software, in particular CAD.
    • A knowledge of the steel industry and/or road building industry will be advantageous.
    • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Some management experience in a production environment will also be advantageous.
    • A knowledge of OH&S requirements and procedures.

    If successful, you can expect a starting base salary in the region of $80K plus super and performance based annual bonus.
