The Position & You
Whilst being supported by a Project Manager, Contract Administrator and Estimator (each highly experienced) the Cadet will be exposed to subcontractor liaison (chasing quotes), document control, liaison with architects and consultants and claims management.
There will be some time spent at site, though only on a needs basis as this is chiefly an office-based role.
The role represents a good opportunity to enter into a smaller firm a further gain an exposure to the full complement of construction delivery. In doing so, you can look forward not avoiding the "pigeon-holed" nature of a refined role often associated with larger firms, and work alongside and further learn from experienced personnel keen to see you develop into a leader in the firm.
Requirement's - my client is clear on the person they seek. A degree in a building or civil engineer discipline is needed, as is at least 12 months experience with a commercial building firm fulfilling any of the duties mentioned earlier.
Finally, you should be a team player who puts colleagues and your employer ahead of your own interests.
