Package: $25.00 per hour
Our client is a community and welfare organistaion that assists a wide range of clients. They are one of the largest charitable groups in NSW. We are looking for a causal Outreach Worker to assist with their domestic violence service in South West Sydney.
The contract is full-time for a initally for a period of 3 months and they are looking for a candidate to start ASAP.
To be female is a genuine requirement for the position under Section 31 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1997.
You will be providing outreach case management for single women and their children. This will include:
- Developing caseplans for long and short term goals
- Hand-over interviews with their client and existing Caseworker
- Provide support and advocacy for clients to government and non-government agencies
- Reporting of child protections issues
- Reviewing case plans
- Maintaining client case records
Essential Criteria
- Welfare qualifications and relevant experience
- Sound written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of community resources
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Have case management experience
- Understanding of domestic violence and homelessness and its effects on women and children
- Non-judgemental attitude
- Understanding of issues facing women from diverse cultural backgrounds
- Understanding of child protection legislation
- Possess good negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Computer literate
- Current drivers licence, own vehicle is highly desirable
Desired Skills
- Knowledge of the issues facing women who may have a mental health or drug/alcohol addiction
- Experience in housing issues
- Community language
- First Aid Certificate
