Our client a leading mining business is currently recruiting for a new Business Analyst due to growth within the organisation. Applicants should have strong practical experience of working in a Business Analyst capacity and will ideally have gained exposure to the mining industry or related areas.

Key Performance Areas:

• Assist in maintaining project financial models
• Assist the marketing team in assembling and analysing market related information
• Assist the logistics team in reviewing transport options from mine to end use market
• Assist the project team in financial evaluation of proposed projects
• Prepare reports of market conditions and economic and political factors which may have an impact on the business
• Prepare plans on how the business can take advantage of opportunities and minimise threats posed by market, economic and political factors
• Prepare contingency plans to cope with changing market conditions
• Scan market conditions daily and keep up-to-date with current events which may have an effect on the business

Experience and Requirements: 

• Understanding of how various market and economic factors affect each other and experience in developing plans and contingency plans to ensure that the company is able to take advantage of opportunities or prepare for threats based on a change in economic/market factors
• Proven experience in understanding the components of running a fiscally successful project
• Ability to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, decompose high-level information into details, and report on the possible opportunities and threats to the business
• Proactively communicate and collaborate with internal and external customers to analyse their information and business needs
• Must understand the operational, logistical and marketing aspects of the business
