Engineering Design Manager

Based on the lower north shore of Sydney, our client is a success story in their field. Having experienced considerable growth over the last few years, the business is seeking a Design Manager to compliment an existing structure. 

Reporting to the Group Operations Manager, you will have responsibility for a team in Sydney and also the coordination of design activities for two international offices with a focus upon heavy industrial turnkey plant solutions, pressure vessel design and manufacturing, modular skids and related process equipment. 

You will be charged with developing and maintaining the common standards across locations, driving product improvement initiatives and facilitating the resolution of technical problems when they arise. You will possess excellent communication skills coupled with your ability to engage and bring out the best of those in your team. Having the qualities of a team player, you will be able to demonstrate your ability to deliver projects on time and within budgetary constraints and be knowledgeable in resource and activity planning. A working familiarity with ASME codes and AS1210 are paramount to be successful in this position. 

Mechanical Tertiary qualifications are a must and ideally ten years experience within heavy industrial design and engineering, with a minimum of five years in management. With international offices and responsibility, travel will be required both interstate and overseas as required.
