Senior Electronics Development Engineer Contract $60 p/h

The contract is for an experienced electronics / product development engineer on contract for a minimum period of six months with likely extensions through to the completion of the 12 month project.  You will play a key role in the development of these new products.

 

You will have an Engineering ????? ????? Electrical, Electronics or Communications, with over 8 years of proven electronics design and product development experience (preferably telecommunications), great communication skills and the ability to work in a fast paced environment. 

 

The product family is primarily satellite communications and tracking equipment, utilising a variety of embedded digital & analogue technologies.

 

Roles / Responsibilities will include:

 

• Lead hardware engineer of embedded products design, RF experience an advantage

• Full development lifecycle of electronics hardware / utilise timelines / prioritise and drive tasks

• Schematic layout, using Altium Designer - to a professional standard (eg. robust EMC methods), and direct PCB layout 6+ layer boards

• Experience in drawing & specifying mechanical / plastic / assembly / enclosure design, working closely with Industrial design house

• Writing product/design specs, production-test and manufacturing-brief specs

• Design investigation including parts selection / sourcing, utilising your established knowledge of component vendors / suppliers / RoHS

• Participate & lead in engineering ????? ????? updates with project members & manager

• Conduct prototype testing, direct design validation, and prepare and oversee EMC testing

• Collaborate with other team member including firmware, software, and hardware engineers within the R&D team.  Consult and oversee outsourced work to partners and customers

• Oversee the product BOMs / CAD / manufacturing ????? ????? sending to contract manufacturer

• Writing of content for User Manuals and Quick Start Guides, in collaboration with marketing / support.

This role requires an outstanding all-rounder with determination and high initiative. You will need excellent planning and organizational skills, sound attention to detail, a confident and clear communication style, and the ability to effectively work without supervision.

 

 

The final rate will be commensurate with your experience and expertise and the above should be taken as a guideline.
