  • A rarely available opportunity has arisen within one of our top Drug Discovery Companies, to join them as a Bioinformatics Manager with responsibilities within the Integrative Computational Sciences department. This role is based in Singapore. 

    Responsibilities: 

    The Bioinformatics manager, reporting to the Associate Director, will be leading a team that consists of 3 to 6 bioinformaticians within the Integrative Computational Sciences department. The manager will lead a scientific research and drug discovery team under the development of novel algorithms, data analyses methods and tools for biological interpretation of complex data. 

    You will work closely with scientists, biologists and chemist and will be collaborating with a strong team of software engineers. The candidate be working together with the company’s Discovery IT department in the US and Europe.   

    As the Bioinformatics manager you will be involved in data analysis, algorithm development and biological interpretation of Oncology, Diabetes, Cardiovascular and Neuroscience studies. The manager will also be leading a team of statisticians and bioinformaticians.  

    Requirements: 

    ·        PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biostatistics, Biophysics or related discipline 

    ·        5 years graduation experience 

    ·        2 years management experience  

    ·        Strong Statistics: SAS/ R/S-Plus/Matlab/Partek 

    ·        OS: Unix/Linux, Windows 

    ·        Strong Algorithm development 

    ·        Programming: Java/C++/C# .Net 

    ·        Databases: SQL/mySQL/Oracle 

    ·        Scripting: Perl, Shell 

    ·        Background in Oncology, Diabetes, Cardiovascular and Neurosciences 

    ·        Experience in handling large data sets such as microarrays, sequencing, proteomics and imaging data
