POSITIONS:              2 FULL TIME CLASSROOM TEACHERS

1 FULL TIME FIXED TERM POSITION FOR 2010 ONLY

CRITERIA:

Applicants need to demonstrate meeting the following criteria:

·         Suitable qualifications and Registration with VIT.

·         Accreditation or willingness to undertake accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic School.

·         Desire to work in a Catholic Parish School being fully supportive of the Catholic ethos.

·         Ability to work as a team to assist in the planning and implementation of an outstanding, challenging and supportive learning program based on developmentally appropriate practices and Reggio Emilia concepts of learning.

·         Promote the importance of play as a means for learning and ensure that inquiry-based and active learning are the basis for planning.

·         Promote and provide opportunities for all children to develop an understanding of his /her own self worth and relationship to the world.

·         Demonstrate a genuine love for teaching young children and have a thorough understanding of their particular developmental stages of growth.

·         Keep abreast of current learning issues in the community and beyond.

·         Have well developed organizational, administrative and ICT (Information Communication Technologies) skills.

·         Competence in Music and/or the Visual Arts. (Highly desirable but not mandatory)

·         Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills.

            Expression of Interest:

a)     Teachers interested in applying for the positions are required to register an expression of interest via email. b)     Following submission of an expression of interest applicants are required to speak to the Principal or Deputy Principal prior to submitting a written application.

i)      Only applications from teachers who have registered an expression of interest with the school as outlined above will be considered.

ii)     Applicants may be asked to join us for a half day’s team teaching / school tour as part of the interview process.
