The country of Qatar is currently experiencing an economic boom in economy and industry and has placed an emphasis on a major drive toward development of infrastructure services and construction of projects on a national scale. Our client, the leading government agency for infrastructure development and project management, is growing their specialist teams and now look to appoint a Communications Advisor to their Public Relations Team.
Reporting to the Manager of Public Relations, this responsible for developing and implementing strategies / programs for maintaining and further enhancing the firm’s image and credibility both in Qatar and globally. This role is also responsible for identifying various sources to introduce, maintain and enhance the firm’s presence, such as in conferences, internet, exhibitions and event inside and outside Qatar. The role also has a strong advisory component to the national manager.
Responsibilities:
- Understand the strategic/operational plans and develop /align the Public Relations plan to ensure relevant stakeholders are addressed at the appropriate time through relevant communications and media.
- Formulate overall policies and processes related to internal and external communications through various media.
- Plan and recommend to the Manager of Public Relations, the firm’s participation in relevant forums, events and exhibitions in Qatar and globally.
- Develop and maintain relationships with media companies, journalists, analysts and influencers as well as with segment producers of key broadcast, print, business publication and web related mediums.
- Advice on External Relations, including overall responsibility for planning and organizing all forums, events and exhibitions under the patronage of the firm.
- Advice the Call Centre division through ensuring that all calls are directed to the correct department and for ensuring that customer complaints/issues are addressed in a timely manner.
Experience and Education:
- A Bachelors Degree in mass communications and/or public relations.
- Minimum 12 years management experience in media/public relations sufficient to demonstrate competency with design and implementation of communications strategies (program planning and management), event management, publications development and production, with at least 6 years in a managerial position;
- Arabic language skills are essential;
- Previous experience in the public / customer service arena will be highly regarded.
