Strategic Advisors – Technical Specialists (Government)

  • The country of Qatar is currently experiencing an economic boom in economy and industry and has placed an emphasis on a major drive toward development on a national scale of infrastructure services, construction of civil and drainage projects, and extensions to current projects through maintenance programs.  Our client, the leading government agency for infrastructure development and project management, is growing their specialist teams and now looks to appoint a 4 new Strategic Advisors who are all technical specialists to their firm 

    The specializations will be in
    • Road projects
    • Drainage projects
    • Infrastructure
    • Asset Management (drainage and roads built projects) 
    These new roles will report to the Chief Technical Advisor who reports to the President. These roles formulate a strategic technical consultancy team who provide specialist technical expertise across the company on a strategic scale. Furthermore, each of the specialist advisors will also monitor and report on the performance of their specialist discipline.  

    Key tasks and duties include:

    • Assist in developing the organization strategic direction, budget and prioritization of the operational plans;
    • Assist in developing the strategic direction, short and long term plan, and prioritization for projects aligned to the business strategy;
    • Assist in establishing relevant performance targets for specialist units, ensuring ????? ????? are realistic and support objectives;
    • Developing reporting procedures on the performance of specialist units;
    • Aligns prioritization projects in consultation with the Director;
    • Liaising closely with Directors for establishing procedures for maintaining high standards of quality, reliability and safety; 
    Key attributes of the role include:
    • Engineering ????? ????? comparable with specialization in relevant discipline being infrastructure, roads, drainage or asset management;
    • Additional certification in project management highly regarded;
    • Masters in business administration is preferred;
    • Minimum 15 years experience in discipline area and must have risen to Project Director or General Manager level, with at least 6 years at senior management level;
    • Experience in managing high performing multi-disciplinary teams;
    • Must have experience in leading large volume of staff reporting (comprising of up to 100 direct / indirect reports).
