EARLY YEARS TEACHERS - CONTRACT/QATAR
The government of is engaged in a multi-year effort to improve its education system, which began in 2002.
Queensland’s Department of Education and Training (DET) has been engaged by ’s Supreme Education Council (SEC) to assist with their current Education Reform.
In 2006, as part of the reform initiative, the SEC adopted a strategic plan for Early Years education that supports three general aims, high-quality programmes, expanded opportunities and effective transitions. The achievement of these aims through the implementation of the strategic plan, over a five-year period, will serve to create a solid foundation for school success for all children. Early Years education encompasses the range of children from age 3 years (Pre-K) through Grade 2.
Early Years Teachers
As part of a current tender submission for supporting a number of schools in and around we are seeking female candidates for the potential positions of Early Years Advisory Teacher (EY AT) for a contract period of 8 months commencing from November 2009.
This position is an Identified Position with a genuine occupational requirement that it be filled by a female applicant as permitted by the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld).
Approximately twenty-five (25) on-shore on-site full-time EY AT positions are available.
Advisory Teachers in Early Years are based in primary schools and work with local teachers to provide instruction and training sessions guided by curriculum standards in Early Years education specially developed for . The curriculum standards and associated learning and development strategies are based on international benchmarks.
We are seeking an Expression of Interest (EOI) from Early Years teachers with expertise in:
- Recognised teaching qualification for Kindergarten, nursery or primary education.
- Recognised Early Years qualification (eg BA or Diploma in ECE).
- Recent successful experience of working within an Early Years setting within a school for at least 5 years.
- Evidence of delivering ????? ????? in current ECE events, courses or training.
- Management experience and/or experience of developing materials and leading and organising professional development for at least 2 years.
- Provide two references from previous employment that verify stated qualifications.
- Evidence of formulating curriculum planning.
- Evidence of good written and oral communication skills.
- Evidence of continual learning through workshops/courses etc.
- Availability to reside and work in from November 2009 for a period of 8 months.
EY ATs are also required to have experience and expertise in the development of school policies relevant to effective transitions from home to Pre-K, Pre-K to K and K to Grade 1 and identification of children who have additional educational support needs.
The EY ATs are expected to lead the professional development training programme for the school, as well as take on the role of coaches and mentors to all stakeholders.
