Our client, a leading global construction firm renowned for its success in mega infrastructure projects, has an expatriate opportunity for a Procurement Manager to join their firm on this exciting project - the Design & Construct USD7.9B Medical and Research Centre project in Doha, Qatar.  This hospital is the most expensive hospital (per bed) in the world and has state of the art equipment and world class technologies, due for completion in 2012. 

The proven performer we seek for this newly created role will be an integral part of the existing procurement team. 

 

Your responsibilities will include:

• Controlling procurement systems and processes and liaising with the project managers to ensure timely and cost effective delivery;
• Responsibility for the supply chain from the tender process until the contracts are awarded, to delivery including inwards freight, customs clearance, and local transportation;
• Management of the procurement data requirements, ensuring ????? ????? documented procurement policies and procedures;
• Management of inventory levels, and procurement of site consumable items;
• Managing vendor relationships;
• Budgets, forecasting and cost control.

The key attributes for this role include:

• A degree qualification in Construction or Engineering ????? ????? least 7 years relevant experience;
• At least 2 years GCC experience relative to rates for agents, vendors, suppliers, etc, with good market knowledge;
• Building and on-site experience is essential;
• Hospital experience would be highly regarded;
• A good knowledge of the estimating process;
• Strong independent communicator with initiative, well developed negotiation skills required.
