The Leukaemia Foundation is the only national not for profit organisation dedicated to the care and cure of patients and families living with leukaemias, lymphomas, myeloma and related blood disorders.
The Leukaemia Foundation is seeking a motivated and experienced person to work within the Support Services Division. Reporting to the Manager, Support Services this person will be responsible for providing information, practical and emotional support to patients, carers and families. Other duties include the facilitation, development and implementation of support programs, liaising with government agencies, hospitals and community organisations. Some intra/interstate travel is required.
Essential skills/Qualifications:
- Qualifications in nursing, social sciences or a related field;
- Experience/qualifications in counselling desirable;
- Experience in the provision of support services and/or experience in the field of haematology/oncology;
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written;
- Proven ability to develop and maintain constructive professional networks and liaising with other organisations;
- Proven ability to work independently and as a member of a team;
- Proven ability to organise, manage and prioritise multiple tasks;
- Computer and database literacy;
- Current driver’s licence.
