We are seeking an energetic professional to take on the exciting role of Sports and Events Manager.
Primarily, this role is responsible for attracting sports events, major meetings and other major general events to the Port Macquarie Hastings area. Other key duties include auditing Councils’ events and sports plans; supporting local sporting and other community organisers to assist in the delivery of well-managed events; managing Council’s bid strategy, identifying and pursuing sources of funding; and establishing a volunteer program.
Experience in the event management industry and high-level relationship building skills are imperative to the success of this role. Self motivation and time management skills are also essential.
An understanding of sports administration, media management, marketing and the tourism industry is highly desirable.
The salary range for this role is between $65,000 and $74,000 per annum, plus 9% superannuation, negotiable dependant upon and skills and experience.
