You are a tertiary qualified Geologist with experience in open cut mining preferably with iron ore. You enjoy working with a dynamic and focused team of professionals who look for continuous performance improvement. In this role you will be joining a multinational company that is offering a challenging 'hands on' role and the strong possibility of full time employment.
Our client is a world leader in the global steel market and is a formidable force in the domestic iron ore industry. With interests in South Australia, our client operates a large open cut mine as well as a processing and ore handling facility. The region is known for its rugged beauty, excellent sports facilities and an exciting night-life; and as the Production Geologist you must be able to demonstrate open cut experience and geological skills that are commensurate with the expectations of the role.
You will work as part of a geological team and your responsibilities will include providing geological input into short and long term planning, logging blastholes, ore spotting, face and bench mapping and some quality assurance functions. You will work closely with the planning staff as well as liaising with other departments such as production and survey. Preferably, you will have high level of computer literacy with a working knowledge of Datamine Studio software.
This is an excellent opportunity for an accomplished geologist to make a mark for yourself. In return for your commitment, you will be provided with a six month contract, a competitive salary, furnished accommodation, and some flights to and from your place of hire.
