Boilermaker/Welder
Our client, one of Australia's largest marine and civil infrastructure specialists, is currently looking for a Boilermaker/Welder to join their team on a permanent basis. This company is going through an aggressive expansion phase and have recently tendered for and won a number of large projects in Western Australia. This position will be working on a 3 weeks on 1 week off FIFO roster to this location in Australia's North West, to build a ship loading facility. Responsibilities - Undertake welding and fabrication as required, meeting approved procedure standards
- Reading and understanding construction drawings
- Liaising with site engineer and site supervisors regarding procedures and requirements
- Onsite welding of steel structures
- Onsite Oxy-Acetylene cutting
- Splicing
- Maintenance of Barge and drilling equipment
- Miscellaneous welding
- Fabrication of temporary work structures and platforms
Requirements - Relevant trade qualification
- Confined Space and Working at heights tickets
- Completion of AS 1554 and 6 G Weld Test (essential)
- Experience using 232 wire (wire feeder)
- Experience in the marine industry is preferred
