Lead Naval Architect - FPSO FEED

Our client is a highly regarded firm of naval architects that is well established in the UK, Australia and Norway and has immediate plans to expand permanently into South-East Asia. It boasts a broad client base of operators and contractors and also enjoys collaborative partnerships with a number of general upstream consulting groups to whom it provides more specialist expertise. Even during ????? ????? cool economy of the last few months, the company has continued to grow. It currently has a number of major studies underway and has recently won an exciting FPSO development project for a client in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Employed by and reporting to the Perth office, you will be seconded into the offices of the joint-venture partner in KL and will be responsible for developing concept design and for providing leadership through the front end design phase. As a senior member of this highly integrated project team, you will need to have exceptional interpersonal skills and a strong commitment to collaborative working practices. You must be able to quickly garner respect based on your technical knowledge and be able to confidently articulate your ideas and opinions to influence and successfully negotiate win-win outcomes for the project. You will be well supported by one of the company's experienced Senior Naval Architects and a Project Naval Architect. In this lead role, you may also have the opportunity to have real input into the future direction of the business within Asia and to identify and investigate new opportunities for the company. Our client is looking for someone that has the ability to play a valuable role in business development and client management to ensure the success of the immediate scope of works and also to facilitate negotiation of further studies and hopefully, the execution phase of the current project. To be considered for this role, you must be a degree qualified Naval Architect or Structural Engineer with not less than ten years' experience in Naval Architecture of which at least five years must be directly related to FPSO conversion or new development projects. You must have strong FEED skills and those who have previous experience in conceptual design and/or project execution phases would be highly regarded. You will be joining an experienced and highly motivated team that is committed to delivering ????? ????? quality consulting service to its clients. This role is offered on a contract basis initially, with accommodation and flights available for those usually residing outside of Kuala Lumpur.
