This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Naval Architect to join a flourishing international consultancy in a permanent staff role. Our client is a highly regarded firm of naval architects that is well established in the UK, Australia and Norway and has immediate plans to expand into South-East Asia. It boasts a broad client base of operators and contractors and also enjoys collaborative partnerships with a number of general upstream consulting groups to whom it provides more specialist design expertise. Even during ????? ????? cool economy of the last few months, the company has continued to grow. It currently has a number of major studies underway and is negotiating further work in Australia and Asia. This continued success, particularly in high level study work, has created a need for a Naval Architect to join the team in Perth and provide support to the Asia-Pac business. Our client is looking for an experienced Naval Architect with a track record of not less than five years in the oil and gas industry, ideally including FPSO new build and conversion projects. Working closely with clients, you will be involved in projects from inception and will need to have a creative and innovative approach to problem solving married with exceptional design skills. In some cases, clients may require you to manage a project through to on-site execution so previous exposure to construction phases or a willingness to manage the construction phase of works would be highly regarded. We are looking for someone who will contribute to business development and client management, so you will need to have exceptional communication skills and relationship building ability. You will be well supported by a team of junior naval architects and will have the opportunity to have real input into the future direction of the business. Due to the nature of this business, some international travel may be required and, for those that are interested, secondments into the UK and South East Asia businesses are encouraged.
