Obtain and analyse evidence of financial misconduct
The Financial Economy Group within ASIC is committed to protecting investors and consumers and increasing market integrity. Within this Group, Deterrence teams are responsible for undertaking major investigations, civil actions and prosecutions to enforce the law and drive behavioural change.
With the goal of securing ????? ????? in the credit industry, this position will be part of a new Credit Deterrence Team to assist with the transition of credit regulation from the States and Territories to the Commonwealth. The team will operate as part of ASIC's Deterrence capability to take fast and effective action when enforcing new national credit legislation and regulating credit participants.
If you have a background in investigation, forensic accounting or fair-trading, then this may be your opportunity to make quick decisions within a highly focussed team, as you: - Assist, where appropriate, in planning new investigation referrals to determine whether a matter should be further investigated and how and what misconduct should be looked at.
- Project manage investigations, where appropriate, by ensuring ????? ????? timely resourcing of investigations and advising staff on activities requiring ????? ????? a matter.
- Gather and analyse evidence by conducting examinations and obtaining relevant documents to assist in the compilation of briefs of evidence for the conduct of civil and administrative proceedings, or for provision to the DPP for conduct of criminal proceedings, as appropriate.
