Regarded as a leader by their clients and peers alike, this leading Employment & Industrial Relations team continues to focus on strategic top-end work for its blue-chip client base.
The group has steadily grown, adding both new partners and new clients and as such is seeking to make a senior level appointment.
As part of this leading Employment & Industrial Relations practice you will assist in all aspects of employment, industrial relations and human resources law, including:
- Interpreting and drafting employment contracts;
- Drafting and advising on company policies and procedures;
- Advising on remuneration and benefits issues;
- Advising on terminations and grievance issues;
- Designing innovative work arrangements and leading edge HR policies and practices which minimise legal risks;
- Assisting with managing disciplinary processes;
- Interpreting employment legislation;
- Conducting litigation such as unfair dismissal claims and unfair contracts claims;
- Assisting in organisational change and restructuring arrangements and providing human resources advice on matters including hiring and firing and conditions of employment;
- Assisting employers to develop and implement effective strategies for achieving major workplace change, including those arising from restructuring, outsourcing and divestments and acquisitions;
- Providing urgent and effective assistance to limit commercial damage when industrial action is threatened or occurring;
- Negotiating with unions; and
- Conducting cases before industrial tribunals and courts.
The ideal candidate will have solid experience and superior technical skills across a variety of employment and industrial relations law issues. In addition, you will have excellent communication skills, highly developed drafting and analytical skills and be able to manage files effectively.
