My client is the leading global manufacturer and marketer of automotive chemical products, equipment and related workshop programs.

Due to high growth within the company, they require the services of a Development Chemist to assist with testing of current and prototype products.

Reporting directly to the Technical Manager, you will be responsible for new product development, as well as close liaison with the marketing, production, planning and purchasing departments.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

- Facilitating field trials of new products 
- Providing technical support to field sales staff and customers 
- Developing the most cost effective ways of manufacturing alongside the Production Manager. 
- Formulation development 
- Management of laboratory records 
- Adjust, test and record batch blends 
- Maintain complete and accurate recordings of test results 

The successful candidate will be a degree qualified engineer, preferably chemical, and have a keen interest in manufacturing end user water based detergent products. Experience in a QC environment and familiarity with technical specifications would be an advantage as would an understanding of the methodology involved in sample processing.

You will also demonstrate outstanding analytical and problem solving skills and attention to detail.
