With a focus on process improvement and efficiency gains, this well known manufacturer and supplier of household goods needs a skilled supply / demand planning professional to ensure inventory effectiveness.   With a view to minimising inventory levels and maximising efficiency, this position will be hands on, and will involve close analysis of retail-driven historical demand and effective review of sales forecasting, followed by supply planning and associated supplier liaison.   Management are keen to implement a more robust and responsible planning process, and key activities will encompass

 

         Engaging in demand planning and forecasting

         Analysing variance between forecast and actual

         Scheduling purchase orders and expediting/de-expediting as necessary

         Liaising closely with suppliers across Europe and Asia

         Co-ordinating with international logistics team

 

Any exposure to the furniture / retail sectors will be advantageous, but it is essential that you have solid experience in supply / demand planning, ideally in an import environment. Strong Excel skills will of course be very important to your application. Excellent communication and a can do attitude are givens.
