Demand/Supply Planner

  • New role with well established Furniture supplier located in Sydney's West - drive to work or use the nearby train station! The Company is focused on process improvement and the need to properly follow demand and supply planning protocols to reduce wasted inventory.
     
    The position will be hands on, with a lot of close analysis of retail-driven historical demand and sales forecasting, coupled with the matching supply planning and associated supplier liaison. Management are keen to implement a more robust and responsible planning process, and key activities will encompass
     
             Engaging in demand planning and forecasting
             Analysing variance between forecast and actual
             Scheduling purchase orders and expediting/de-expediting as necessary
             Liaising closely with suppliers across Europe and Asia
             Co-ordinating with international logistics team
     
    Any exposure to the furniture / retail sectors will be advantageous, but it is essential that you have solid experience in supply / demand planning, ideally in an import environment. Strong Excel skills will of course be very important to your application. Excellent communication and a can do attitude are givens.
