Orthopaedic Surgeon
Multi-faceted, 300-bed hospital

This is a unique opportunity to join a growing and well regarded medical team in one of New Zealand most picturesque locations as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon. Requirements for the role: - Appropriate experience and competence in all aspects of orthopaedic surgery and special training, experience and skill in a complementary subspecialty area.
- Completion of a recognised higher professional education programme.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing medical education.
- Minimum of ten years experience since gaining higher qualification.
- Leadership skills appropriate for a highly functioning clinical team.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, nurses, doctors and other hospital staff.
Key Outputs: - Provides orthopaedic care to assigned patients according to current best-evidence based standards, using best judgement at all times and in accordance with Hospital Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules and Regulations.
- Participates equitably in the on-call ????? ?????.
- Participates in the oversight and professional development of any junior medical staff in the department.
- Participates in review and planning activities relevant to the development of the department and the hospital.
- Fulfills professional requirements for continuing maintenance of competence in all aspects of orthopaedics.
- The post holder is responsible for providing comprehensive consultant level patient care in orthopaedics, with special emphasis on a subspecialty area of interest.
- This responsibility is shared with the other specialist/consultant orthopaedic surgeons in the hospital.
- Liaises with: Patients, families, medical staff, nursing staff, other clinical staff, referring ????? ?????.
