To join the team you will need an environmental / resource management planning back ground with applicable qualifications. Experience with consents and resource management issues surrounding roading and wastewater projects would be advantageous. Expertise from either the public or private sector is useful and experience from both could make you a strong candidate. It goes with the territory but a strong knowledge of the RMA is required. An understanding of the regional and district planning frameworks in relation to consents for large infrastructure projects would start you at the top of the pile. There is development potential with this role, which is currently a small department in a large Nelson office, so you will be considered with leadership potential in mind. If you are a mature candidate with these qualities and more than 7-10 years planning experience this could be the next career step you are looking for.
