We are seeking a highly self-motivated and creative professional for this full time position to coordinate Council’s activities and initiatives in relation to older people and people from diverse backgrounds. The person will have a key role in the development of initiatives and events that work towards greater inclusion and participation with a focus on the target areas for the position. In addition, the person will work across Council and the community to develop collaborative responses to local priorities. A key focus of the role is to work in partnership with key stakeholders to develop events such as Seniors Festival, Harmony Day etc.
The person will have a key role in the development and implementation of the Whitehorse Diversity Policy & Action Plan.
The successful applicant will have a demonstrated knowledge of community development theories and their application and inclusion and participation principles, specifically in relation to their community strengthening benefits.
Relevant tertiary qualifications and professional experience is essential.
