Our client is a well recognised player in the supply and distribution of high profile brands to a growing market. With a large network of sites extending across Australia and New Zealand, they require a well qualified Senior Financial Accountant to support their continued growth.

The key function of this role is to support the CFO in the day to day management of the business. This is a newly created role, offering career development and opportunity for the successful candidate to take full responsibility for the Financial Accounting function, allowing the CFO to step away from day to day activities.

Mature and confident in your approach, you will be a proactive team player, able to take on the responsibility of monthly management accounts and associated internal controls and system enhancements. On a day to day basis your tasks will include:

• Preparation of monthly management pack
• Tax compliance including BAS, payroll tax, and FBT
• Assistance with annual budget process
• Management and development of a small finance team
• Management of full and half year audits Continuous stock/inventory management

The successful candidate will be CPA/ CA qualified with exposure to Warehousing/ Distribution environment. You will be required to communicate regularly with site staff to resolve operational issues. Most importantly you will assume a commercial outlook which will assist you to identify and resolve potential problems. An ability to review and constantly improve processes will ensure your success.

Over the coming year, the new incumbent may be required to assist with accounting for acquisitions as the business continues to grow.
