Environmental Officer - Land Management

 



Our client is leading infrastructure provider and has a permanent full time career opportunity located in North Sydney.

Our client’s environmental policy section is responsible for ensuring ????? ????? possible environmental outcomes in areas such as sustainability, air quality, heritage conservation, biodiversity and land management.

This role is suitable for a motivated “mid-level” environmental professional who is seeking to secure a broad role with an attractive salary and working conditions. To be shortlisted for this position applicants will need to be able to demonstrate some or all of the following attributes;
 
A minimum of 5 years experience in the private or public sector is preferred
 
Broad environmental experience with a good general understanding of land management issues such as erosion and sedimentation control, stormwater treatment systems, contaminated land management
 
A good understanding of government procedures and policy formulation
 
Specialist technical expertise in an area related to land management
 
Superior written and verbal communication skills
 
The ability and confidence to take on a broad and varied role
 
The successful applicant’s functions will include (but not be limited to) the following areas;
 
  • Providing advice on implementing our client’s land management guidelines
  • Reviewing environmental proposals, assessments and reports
  • Performing site inspections and audits
  • Managing specialist consultant panels
  • Assisting with research and project management
  • Liaising with key internal and external stakeholders
