This leading international provider of integrated building and engineering services is number one in the Australian Electrical and HVAC installation and maintenance service markets. With a network of highly successful and long-established companies this group operates through three divisions that provide services including Electrical, Communications, HVAC, Refrigeration, Mechanical, Pipelines, Fire & Property Maintenance. With annual revenues of more than $A850 million and approximately 3,600 employees, including highly skilled engineers, electricians, plumbers, air conditioning and refrigeration technicians and apprentices this group inhabits more than 150 sites in Australia, New Zealand, UAE and India.

They are currently seeking a Commercial Manager (Contracts Manager) to provide an overall commercial review / risk management role over the whole group throughout Australia, New Zealand, Asia and the UAE. 

Reporting to the Managing Director and based in their Sydney headquarters you will be charged with the tasks of:

• Reviewing commercial and contract terms of prospective and existing projects to minimise and adequately address risk throughout the whole life of the commission
• Providing an overseeing commercial assessment role during the bidding process for large projects
• Critiquing methodologies and processes from an independent standpoint to ensure efficiencies are constantly aligned with world best practice 
• Joining the groups internal Review Panel and providing input within the commercial and contract business parameters
• Constantly identifying, characterising, assessing and providing solutions for risks that impinge on the business from a global 'big picture' stance
• Prioritising risk reduction measures based on a the current business strategy

This position would suit a senior executive with upper level business experience as well as technical expertise within the construction industry.

As a suitable candidate for this challenging role you will have:

• Proven experience within a senior commercial and contracts role within the construction or engineering industries - a mechanical and / or electrical focus is not essential but will be an advantage
• A Quantity Surveying, Estimating, Contracts Administration or Commercial Management background within consultancy OR building companies
• Excellent technical knowledge of the construction and engineering industries with direct exposure to multi-million dollar projects
• A first class knowledge of the main building contracts utilised within Australia and our nearest neighbouring countries
• Deep and sound experience in negotiating the terms and conditions of the above stated contracts
