Membership Consultant Health & Fitness Sales / Sales Representative

    Choose either the security of a guaranteed base rate for a minimum of 35 hours + super + commission or take up the exciting opportunity on a higher rate, commission only agreement as a contractor with your own ABN*. 

    Membership Consultants will enjoy the benefit of full club membership, use of company administrative resources and contacts. Knowledge of and experience within the health & fitness industry would be an advantage.

    The successful candidate will:

    • Be able to generate leads, contact prospects, appoint, tour, close sales and obtain new referrals by demonstrating an understanding of the product and successful up-selling of complimentary services available to members.

    •  Demonstrate commitment to effective team building, with excellent communication skills and the drive to consistently achieve and exceed club targets.
    • Have a motivated, energetic, enthusiastic, positive and mature attitude with a focus on enhancing the clubs profile to existing internal and potential external clients.
    • Demonstrate the ability to meet sales targets, exceed expectations and be continually working towards new goals.
    • Have the capacity to creatively develop new lead opportunities in the local community including corporate and individual group packages.
    • Have a respect and adherence for company policy, procedures and inter departmental staff and contributing positive suggestions for improvement. 

    Job Summary:  Membership coordinators are responsible for selling memberships to the club.  The job requires that the membership coordinator generate at least 60% of his or her own prospects through normal prospecting channels.  The other 40% may originate from club advertising and promotions.  A strong working relationship with club staff is expected of the membership coordinator.  Paperwork and administrative follow-up on personal sales – along with personal follow-up on new memberships are essential tasks.

     Responsibilities and Approximate Time Distribution

    1.      15%  Telephone solicitation, prospecting and other follow-up.

    2.      4%    Sending mailings to prospects.

    3.      60%  Touring ????? ????? and making actual sales presentations.

    4.      10%  Follow-up on new members sold; prospecting same.

    5.      3%    Paperwork and administrative backup.

    6.      3%    Meeting attendance.

    7.      3%    Participation in ongoing training programs.

    8.      2%    Attending special events.

    Basic Job Requirements:

    • Possess and demonstrate a proven track record  of successful sales.
    • Positive attitude of a team player with strong work ethic and a competitive edge regarding exceeding sales targets.
    • Provide availability on a monthly basis for rostering ????? ?????.  Agree to attend the club during, but not restricted to, rostered hours. 
    • Collect and contact club generated leads daily inclusive of phone, email and web generated enquiries and casual visit waivers allocated based on the dancefloor system. 
    • Contact, appoint and convert maximum number of general club generated leads allocated weekly on a Monday by the Friday, maximising revenue for the club.
    • Collect referral information from every prospective and new member.
    • Follow up Membership Applications that are awaiting information on a daily basis.
    • Using the Member Contact system reports personally contact all members appointed at week 3 of membership and record contact as per procedure. 
    • Use creative initiative to develop corporate and individual group lead generation packages.  All lead generation  / prospecting materials and packages that are outside of the regular membership parameters and marketing specials MUST be discussed and developed with the assistance of the marketing coordinator and administration manager with final authorisation from the director PRIOR to delivery.
    • Maintain an awareness of competitors facilities, services and promotions.
    • Be aware of and where possible attend local events that may have a relevance to health & fitness or have a promotional capacity for lead generation.
    • Demonstrate the ability to overcome objectives with a sincere desire to fulfil the members stated needs and where possible upsell appropriate services and products. 
    • Have an up to date knoweldge of, and where possible experience, additional club products, services and outside service providers affiliated with or renting club premises. Primarily upselling our products and those services we are affiliated with, prior to any recomendation outside of the club. 
    • Maintain accurate and detailed information recording contacts and lead conversions using club devloped data recording systems.
    • Communicate effectively and regularly with internal clients via the email, memo folder and communications book. Complete all required paperwork consistently and with attention to detail.
    • Assist in setting personal sales targets and participate in performance evaluation.
    • Regularly meet and greet members to increase relationship and retention using this opportunity to inform, upsell and gain referrals where possible. 
    • Participate in active retention of members through regular floor contact.
