Newcastle Newspapers Pty Ltd, part of the Fairfax Regional and Community Newspapers group, is seeking to recruit a Photographer on a 12month maternity relief contract. This is an exciting opportunity to join Australia’s leading regional daily newspaper.

Reporting to the Photographic Co-ordinator, the successful applicant will be expected to work across all subject areas, including news, sport and features.

The successful applicant will have:

·  Demonstrated photographic experience, ideally in a newspaper environment. 

·  Experience using digital photographic equipment along with Adobe PhotoShop.

·  A thorough knowledge of and interest in current affairs, a keen news sense and an understanding of how a breaking news story develops.

·  Excellent organisational and time management skills.

The successful applicant will be expected to be self-motivated and will be required to work well as a team member in a demanding and competitive environment. You will be expected to liaise successfully with editors, managers, reporters, colleagues and others.
